  2. There are legit ways of running multiple d2's, most people are too dumb to realize this or didn't pay attention when using their operating system EVERY day. It doesn't matter about business. Blizzard says no to any 3rd party programs, the question has been posed to the battle.net forums many times with the same answer. Loader is an unlegitimate program to use on the battle.net servers. Like most people that said it couldn't be detected, it was. Bape. is at least taking this the right way and not whining about it. But your comments about business are incredibly narrow minded.
  3. gtfo no1 likes you, and you have like 250 fg so is c/o still 1k lol Except peter sold me the name and i have it on my account. end your rage kiddie Proof Pedophile? To bad you didn't get banned, would of sweetened my day up. Don't give up hope yet. haha
  4. www.battle.net for the ban information. GJ Tanky, but I honestly don't think Postabout cares if you got banned, try JSP.
  5. This is a common problem due to a hardware change inside of the computer. You will have to call microsoft so they can change the code to fit your computer. How this works: When you register Windows Vista, your computer connects to the Microsoft network and takes down what hardware you are using. If you were to try and install the same installation key of Vista on another computer, it would know it's stolen because it's registered to that computer. I've seen this issue many times before just from basic driver updates, but a bios update would surely do it. You will have to call them to have them update the key.
  6. What killed d2 was it's age, plain and simple. The rare breed of legit players left have quit (including myself) due to all of the 13 year olds that don't have access to daddy's credit card for WoW or Everquest, download their shit tmcpk, and steal from people they add on their flist to get rich. The non-legit 'cool crowd' people that used to be legit claim that nobody is legit, so they might as well hack to pk some cookie cutter hammerdin that does 15K damage. That's d2 in a nutshell, sounds pretty boring right? I think you catch my drift.
  7. Add this to the ever growing list of uses for your PS3: Digital TV tuner to be added to the PS3 so you can record TV. I have posted a lot of this stuff in another thread which is Stick a fork in it.....HD-DVD is dead, or something along those lines. The PS3 is a plain steal if you game or don't game. I will point out the simple fact that if you only want to game, the 360 is a way better choice, but I am a HUGE car fanatic, so Gran Turismo 5 (no, not prologue), sells me on a PS3.
  8. The standard dvd format won't disappear in a year or 2. Blu-ray will be out done in a few years. Microsoft was not banking on hd-dvd to come out the winner, thats why they added on the drive as a peripheral. Sony staked pretty much all they had in blu-ray and they were saved by the studios deciding to go blu-ray. I wouldn't declare the Ps3 the winner just yet, they need to have more exclusive games to draw more people. Outdone? As in gone? Please explain your reasoning. Do you think any company is going to come out with a new product to combat blu-ray after seeing what happened with Toshiba? Unless there is a new format that comes out that offers more (which won't happen, 1080p is the mainstream market resolution, this 1440p won't matter because you can't tell the difference on any TV smaller than 60"), Blu-Ray is here to stay for the next 5-10 years. Believe me Tom, I'm sure you are a pretty smart guy, but the point of the matter is, integrating Blu-Ray was an easy step for Sony, and the movie companies were not what put the dagger in HD-DVD's chest. Retailers were selling much more Blu-Ray discs because there were PS3's that could play them. As I stated before, 90%+ of the Blu-Ray players sold were PS3's and people know they have a high def player, why not buy the high def discs? Overall, you come across as Sony controlling Blu-Ray, it's actually a huge partnership of companies that had originally invested in it, though Sony is one of the bigger brands in the bunch, I would hardly say they staked all they had into it, Sony made up all of it's losses from the PS3 in sales other than their consoles, their company is huge and they did it the right time this time around (not like Betamax). Advertising is key. Never said it wasn't a good deal, but I'd be wary of using the 360 on anything extra than gaming. The moment my 360 became a DVD player, the damn thing stopped working. Unless you have a new one, I'd use it sparingly, . To clarify though, there are only 386 HD-DVD titles out as of Feb. 12 2008 (these will probably come to Blu-Ray eventually), I don't expect many more to come out.
  9. the majority of the logic in the previous posts is flawed. One of the best things you can do is use the HD-DVD player as an upconvert player, which just makes your standard dvds look better. The one downside is you are wasting $50 for something that will not play the next generation format. Yah, you can groan and complain all you want, but you will eventually want to invest into a blu-ray player because that's what all of the movies will be in. You claim the public is stupid, yet the logic in buying it because it's cheap is like buying a VERY OLD and OUTDATED computer. Sure, you can use it, but when something comes out you want, can you still use the computer? Save your money. On a lighter note, did I just see that you guys are thinking that MS will add a Blu-ray drive next gen? Wow? MS's console wasn't perfect this time around? Sounds like it will be the same story as last time, PS2 > XBOX, so MS designs 360 after PS2, the analysts are saying the PS3 will outdo the 360 this year, and so far they have been doing quite well recently (need I post some articles about this?), so now the next gen XBOX will be modeling itself after the PS3. Leave it to microsoft to leave the ingenuity and branching out to Sony.
  10. because this is in the BG...hey Future-, let's hope this flip-flop trend of yours doesn't last too long, I'd hate to see you go from straight to gay because you flip flopped. Oh and btw, apparently Sony isn't as bad as you made them out to be, otherwise you wouldn't have just given them $400 from your pockets (or your parents pockets..?)
  11. I agree with you. We were very close to buying a PS3 just because of how nice Blu-Ray looked on the PS3. And Sony's marketing strategy for the PS3 isn't just games but also as a high def media player which is a good idea. Unless a peripheral is made for the 360 that is a blu-ray player, we'll probably buy a PS3 just for blu-ray eventually (my dad loves the look of it and he's big on movies, lol.) But I must say, good job Sony. It would be a good idea, I work for Best Buy and if people like movies, I automatically recommend buying a PS3 with their HDTV. Not everyone knows exactly what it does, but after I explain it to them, they really want one. To give you a quick rundown in case you didn't know: 1) a) Wi-Fi built in with a web browser included on the PS3: You can surf the internet on your HDTV. Buy the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard, and you can have a sweet keyboard to go with it. (This is geared more towards adults) Access to Folding@home or SETI@home: Connect to Stanford University's folding@home project to use your PS3's processor to study major diseases such as alziehmers, cancer, etc while your PS3 is idle. 2) Media Center capabilities: You can store your movies, pictures, etc on the PS3 and access them whenever you want for playback on your TV and/or home theater system. 3) The hard drive is non proprietary: Want to get a bigger hard drive than the 360? You can, the hard drive inside is just a standard computer hard drive. Get a service plan from any local retailer, and pop that baby open and swap out the hard drives. 4) Blu-Ray player: Actually the player has been reviewed and stacked up against many other Blu-Ray players and the PS3's actually performs incredibly well. 5) Gaming experience: I will be the first to admit there aren't that many great games out right now, but Gran Turismo 5 Prologue shows the tip of the iceberg at what the PlayStation 3 can do, and it will only get better as time goes on. 6) Free online gaming: got a 360 already? Enjoy XBOX live? Fantastic, owning the PS3 will also be great because if you have a game you like, no charges to play online. 7) Playstation Home: Looks pretty neat, hopefully it will add some neat features to make it worthy of a comparison to XBOX live. PSP connectivity: Got a PSP? Sync it with your PS3 and access any of your stuff on the PS3 remotely. I don't think this will be the PS3's year, unless a sleeper game comes out to help the sales of the PS3, because the 360 has way to many great games. Overall though, looking at the pros of the PS3 seem to outweigh the cons, not to mention you don't have the severe hardware issues that the 360 does, and of course the $399.99 price isn't too much to swallow for a system (needless to say there is a rumor for a $299.99 ceramic white model coming out since Sony cut the production costs of the PS3 in half just recently).
  12. Sony definitely didn't get lucky. It was all apart of a market strategy. 90%+ of the Blu-Ray players sold were PS3's, and needless to say, people that bought it know they have a Blu-Ray player so they buy blu-ray movies. The people that bought HD-DVD were the people that either A. Wanted a cheap high def player, or B. hated Sony and what they sell. Take a look at the companies that supported blu-ray too, they were the original developers of ultra-violet laser technology to read higher bandwidths and Toshiba bit off more than they could chew by developing their own technology. Microsoft was the key player to the failure by not swallowing their ego. A settlement to make the high def format one was in the works but because of MS being hurt that Blu-Ray partnered with Sun Microsystems and their technology to drive the Blu-Ray engine, the settlement was cut off. Again, this was MS being bigheaded and thinking their large pockets were going to buy the end to this format war.
